After the recent devastating floods in Australia, we learned that one of our designers was a victim of the terrible disaster. Zoe Pearn shared her family's story of losing their house to the floods recently, and as a team of designers and a close-knit community, we've come together to create an amazing collaboration kit, Brighter Days Ahead. This special limited edition kit is one of the the largest we've ever created here at SSD and features over 250 pieces created by the Sweet Shoppe Designers along with some of the most talented designers in the community. 100% of the profits will be donated to Zoe and her family to help them financially as they try to recover from this tragic loss.

WOW! Okay so first lol - The Digi_Licious Freebie has expired. You guys attacked that like nothing I've ever seen lol - used up 85% of my monthly bandwidth in DAYS! So umm.. I think I might have to stick to 4shared - I am just blown away. Just shows you all have good taste though! Okay, my wow moment is out of the way.

So..I got my greedy little hands on this kit called So Simple by Mamrotka &

I LOVE the colors of this kit, it's not a huge kit or anything like that but it was sooooo easy to put things together and make them work - it was a ton of fun to work with!

I also won a RAK a couple days ago, this very nice kit Dashing Through
by Band Geek Designs & made a darling page with it, I really like the way this turned out!

That paper rocks by the way, and I'm not a pattern paper kinda gal!

Day 8 into the new year! Yes, this makes me very happy, it's one more day closer to my husband being home!!! WOOOHOOOO!!! This year is starting in the right direction for me, and I am SO grateful for it! But now for the reasons you came here LOL

They're easy to use, ready to go - and you can even desaturated them & use them as a different color! Personally, I love blue, thus the reason my first pack is blue! I think I'll do some blend colors next - those always look pretty! Usually when I'm not the one doing it though...

Can you believe we're already 6 days into 2011? That happened pretty quick!
Well, news first! I am now selling at ScrapBird! I don't have a whole lot loaded there yet, but I do have some awesome new stuff & popular products! I'm running a 35% off sale there, not a huge opening I know I know, but I was just so happy to BE there you know? It's awesome, a good feeling and I need as much "good feeling" as I can get!
After I get settled into ScrapBird for a bit, I might consider one more store, I really don't want to overload myself like I did when I first started out. I have an idea of where I want to be in a couple years with my designing...and in a ton of stores isn't it! Unless this one store I just applied to thinks my style will work well with what they're doing....then I'll be set lol

WOW! What a year that was...2010....good bye!!! I don't even want to recap that year, I am just to excited about 2011! Not only am I in this amazing store DSD [50% sale!], who IS by the way looking for some new designers, I also am preparing to slip my way into ScrapBird! I also have an upcoming interview with Digi_Licious! She's provided a HUGE freebie by the way - so keep an eye out for that! Even more? Yes..yes I have more! I also have a new preview! Which, I did all by my little self and am totally proud of! I also have a few new products to load to the store, which I shall be doing shortly! BUT to start with, this is Melody. My husband, my wonderful amazing perfectly imperfect darling husband, will FINALLY
be coming home in 8 - 10 weeks!!!!!! His 4th tour in Iraq is ALMOST over...so, if you pray, keep praying, light a candle, just whisper a please and thank you - what ever it is you do...just do it.
Soon he will be home with us again and I simply CAN NOT wait!!!

Well, this could very well be the last time you see this preview..I have come up with a new one! I think I'm hitting a milestone in designing...starting to figure out my own style. Now if I could just DRAW! Ugh, I am sooooo jealous of all these amazing designers who know how to connect friggin lines! I suck at it. Terrible I say! I can doodle, I enjoy doodles...but oh to draw... :: sigh ::
Okay well, now you know - I've got a new "look" for next year...and I am indeed excited about it! I'll even have some new blinkies AND a new forum signature! WOOOHOOO!!
Well, I whipped this little word art up, there are two - same words, just one with a shadow and one without. Not the shadow in the preview though, but it's cute, so I'm sharing!

I hope everyone is staying warm, being respectful to others and has already finished the dreaded Christmas shopping...I had to go to Wal-Mart for something today...it was SCARY! :: shudders :: Crazy, run and totally in their own worlds..right well, anyway -

Is anyone else pulling their hair out trying to get everything done for Christmas? I think I bit off a bit more then I can chew this time...I've got over 40 cards to send out to Soldiers over seas, plus the cards to finish making for my family and get those sent out...presents to finish painting and buying..packing and sending...omg it's CRAZY! I love it ^__^ I'm making a list next year though! Of course because of the hectic season I haven't been able to get any real work done :: cries :: So I haven't been able to even THINK about making a Christmas kit...and I really want to get one done...alas....kids first! God bless layaway!!!! I have however managed to get a new kit completed - and I like it! I actually made two pages with photos of my son using this new kit! Have I "talked" your eyes off yet?

Whew! Hows about that! I really do like this kit, might make a few cards with it as well but time time time time!!!!! UGH!

Well I wiggled one of the designers I CT for into an interview ^__^, Skute Design!, I'm 'sneaky' like that lol She's a very nice lady with a lot of ideas and pushes kits out faster then I can blink most days! Especially her new Christmas collection, MASSIVE comes to mind! Without further ado I present the interview! Oooh.. I made a rhyme!


1. How long have you been designing?


For 5 months right now. I made some word arts for my own use in former times but really "working" as Designer I started in June this year.

2. What is your current favorite kit?

By my own or from other designers?
my own I love my Golden Christmas and other designers *phew* I am shopaholic but I guess it is "Memories about" a collab by PrelestnayaP and Yalana.

3. What do you use for inspiration?

Oh everything around. Advertising, places, pictures, holidays, seasons ... inspiration is all around, you only have to train your eye for it.

4. If you could do a collab with someone, who would it be and why?

Good question I haven't thought about it before ... mhh let me think I guess MK, Natali or Sussie M. because I love their designs. Maybe I should ask them *lol*


5. What is your favorite part of designing?

Selling my stuff *lol*
... no I love to do word arts. You can express so much with words and a beautiful word art is an eye catcher on a beautiful creation.


6. How long does it normally take you to complete a kit?

This is different, it depends on the time I can spend on designing, if there are more other things in real life it took me longer to complete.
And when I have no ideas then it takes the longest.
But most time I spend about the preview.
A nice preview that makes the people wanna see more of the kit is very important and so I work on that some hours.

7. What program do you use in your creations?

PSP8 and PS/CS5 sometimes Artrage and PSE.

8. What is your favorite part of a kit to make?

Word arts, did I mentioned that I love Word arts, because I am a journaling scrapper.
