Layouts! + Cu4Cu Freebie!!

WOW! Okay so first lol - The Digi_Licious Freebie has expired. You guys attacked that like nothing I've ever seen lol - used up 85% of my monthly bandwidth in DAYS! So umm.. I think I might have to stick to 4shared - I am just blown away. Just shows you all have good taste though! Okay, my wow moment is out of the way.

So..I got my greedy little hands on this kit called So Simple by Mamrotka &
I have to admit...I LOVE this kit! I've got a few more ideas for it already, just have to find the time to get it all done! Check out my pages:

I LOVE the colors of this kit, it's not a huge kit or anything like that but it was sooooo easy to put things together and make them work - it was a ton of fun to work with!

I also won a RAK a couple days ago, this very nice kit Dashing Through
by Band Geek Designs & made a darling page with it, I really like the way this turned out!

That paper rocks by the way, and I'm not a pattern paper kinda gal!
But I'm sure you're ready for that brand new CU4Cu Freebie huh?

Now it's nothing spectacular, but I thought it was pretty darn cute!
3D words - I / We / Love / Kisses / Heart / Warm / Ing & 1 paper
Hope you can find these to be useful and a great tool!
Have a great week and stay warm!

They're easy to use, ready to go - and you can even desaturated them & use them as a different color! Personally, I love blue, thus the reason my first pack is blue! I think I'll do some blend colors next - those always look pretty! Usually when I'm not the one doing it though...

ALSO! I am running a CT call! You can find all the info for that HERE
I have 3 ladies already on my team but am looking to add a few more! Promise I only bite upon request! Most days anyway....

Okay, time for me to go clean up little Ricky...he's always a huge mess after eating noodles!
Have a GREAT and WONDERFUL Saturday!!!!!

CU Word Art Freebie!

Well, this could very well be the last time you see this preview..I have come up with a new one! I think I'm hitting a milestone in designing...starting to figure out my own style. Now if I could just DRAW! Ugh, I am sooooo jealous of all these amazing designers who know how to connect friggin lines! I suck at it. Terrible I say! I can doodle, I enjoy doodles...but oh to draw... :: sigh ::
Okay well, now you know - I've got a new "look" for next year...and I am indeed excited about it! I'll even have some new blinkies AND a new forum signature! WOOOHOOO!!
Well, I whipped this little word art up, there are two - same words, just one with a shadow and one without. Not the shadow in the preview though, but it's cute, so I'm sharing!

I hope everyone is staying warm, being respectful to others and has already finished the dreaded Christmas shopping...I had to go to Wal-Mart for something today...it was SCARY! :: shudders :: Crazy, run and totally in their own worlds..right well, anyway -
DO have a wonderful and joyful season to all, STAY WARM!

Interview with Kim B + CU Freebie!

Are you guys ready? I AM I AM!!
My second interview!!! Kim B :: drools :: She has something happening
here real soon - but she's pretty tight fingered about it! So be sure to keep
an eye on her - I know I am!!!

1. Who introduced you to digital scrapbooking?

No-one in particular as I had never even heard of digital scrapbooking until I did a "google" search for wedding card ideas for my sister. lol
I hit a link to Scrapbook Max (which was the first programme I ever used). It all looked so interesting and something I would really enjoy due to doing "paper and crafts" too.
I downloaded the trial version and well the rest is history- I was hooked, hook line and sinker-lol. The more I researched and browsed the more I loved.

2. How long did it take you to find your style of scrapping?

OOOh goodness, I don't think it's changed much from my first LO I ever did( which actually took me over 4 days to finish-lol).
I think we all just adapt to the latest "trends" and "kit creations" like we do with our clothes and looks- but your basics *likes and dislikes* still stay the same.
No matter how hard I try to experiment and achieve a "new look" in my LO's they always land up in my own "style"- which I think is more about the "photo's" and memory,
than the elements or papers of a kit. ;-)

3. What are some of the things that help inspire your creations?

My photo's definetly. I often create kits that are based on an event or a photo I have taken that I really like. Sometimes it's people I am close too, and what they mean to me. I use my emotional attatchments to the people closest to me a lot for inspiration.
Other times it's me just playing and experimenting in Photoshop that will spur off a kit due to an effect or paper I liked that I made.

4. If you could do a collab with one person, who would it be?

OMG- this is such a hard question to answer- hahaha.
There are a ton of fantastic designers out there that I adore and admire greatly and would feel honored to collab with any of them.
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,

5. Everyone has an idol, who is your scrapping idol and why?

Hutchie ( or Chris as we know her)- http://hutchyhutchie.blogspot.com/
She has the most amazing "clean style" of scrapping that I so battle to achieve and it's one I find the hardest to do. She is a MASTER at it and I can sit and stare at her LO's for hours and still not get it right the way she does.
Her eye for composition and placement is just amazing!

6. What are three things you believe every scrapper should know?

1. CNTRL Z - UNDO lol, it's the best thing about digital scrapping, you can fix anything you want without ripping or distroying up a page ;-)
2. Quality of product you are using. If you are printing your LO's there is nothing worse than blured or pixelated elements/papers framing your "memory" that you want to share with others.
3. Have FUN, PLAY and never be scared to try something new ( remember number 1 - lol), it's a great way to learn

7. What is one experience you've had in the scrapping world that will stay with
you forever?

Oh Goodness, there are sooo many, but I think it's that first comment on my first LO I ever uploaded. I was scared as hell as I didn't have a clue about forums and gallery's then.
I will never forget that feeling of "WOW" someone actually liked it- lol, and it made me feel like the 4 day's I spent on it were OK. That person, Jazzy is still one of my closest "internet" friends
TODAY and that's just over 4 years ago.
The other was my first ever mention on Ikea Goddess's blog for my second freebie I had ever made and upped to my new little blog - OMG, I used her blog daily when I was just a "scrapper" and there I WAS-MEEE! LOL I pee-ed in my pants and screamed for hubby who didn't know what the hype was about- he just said "oh that's nice"- lol
And yup- most definitely all my wonderful FRIENDS I have made on line- some will last a life time no matter that the oceans separate us ;-)

8. Why did you decide to open your own store?

I got bitten by the "designing bug" just after doing my second LO and was battled to find an element I wanted, or one that looked good. So decided to try it myself (after much sweet talk to hubby to buy me PSE-lol)
And that's where it started, after 5 months of doing freebies and yakking on my blog- Heather from DSO sent me a message that they were looking for designers and well as they say the rest is HISTORY. lol
I have been at DSO since I started and unfortunately it will be shutting it's doors at the end of October 2010.
It's been my home for years now and I will have some decisions to make in the new year for sure - ( just have to get passed all the year end functions and real life matters first)-
But stay tuned, as my blog will be updated with any news of where I'm going and what I will be doing.
I do NOT plan on retiring as "digi" is running through my veins- lol

Isn't she just AWESOME? She's one of my all time Fav's for sure!
Thank you for coming over and I hope you enjoyed the latest interview! Now...who
should I harass next?? Hurrrm!!
Also - don't forget to grab your CU Freebie!

My first Interview!!!! Welcome Dana Conditt!!! + Freebie!!!

Okay so if you can't tell, I am SYKED!!!!I asked Dana Conditt 8 questions & got some awesome answers!!!
First I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Dana for being my Interview Cherry Pop!
I got so tickled my toes curled lol Now..let's see what happened shall we?

1. What inspired you to become a digital scrap designer?
I have been working with digital files for about 12 years as a web designer, and after having kids the path took me on to photography and digital scrapbooking. I love the expression of
creativity along with having something that helps keep memories alive for my kids and hopefully their kids and so on.

2. Why did you start your store, DigitalScrapDesigns.com?
As a web designer, starting my own site for digital scrapbooking just came naturally. At first DSD was my personal site and then as I started to focus more on that area of business, I decided to make it a multi-designer store. It has been so much fun working with so many talented desi
gners, and I never regret that direction of growth and even look forward to more growth in the future. I also love interacting with customers, and try to really give a personal feel to any customer that contacts me and as often as possible make sure they leave with the best impressions of the store and service as a whole. 3. In your newest kit, Strength & Security, what was your main inspiration?
My amazingly fabulous wonderful -- I could go on and on -- husband. He is truly a rock in my life. We have been through so much together. Both our kids were born weighing just 1 lb and 3 oz at birth and spent many weeks in the NICU. It was a difficult time for us both but less s
o because we had each other as support. He is my champion as well, and always believes in me and anything I can dream up he backs me 110%.

4. When you get "stuck" making a kit, what do you to do get "unstuck"?I think its a combination of things - sometimes just stepping away and taking a break is all that is needed for a little recharge. Giving yourself permission to just put everything on pause for a day or so.
Not forgetting that like any job there has to come time to put all the "work" away, esp. when it starts to feel like "Work". :) I love to window shop in magazines like Better Homes and Gardens for fun color palettes I can put my own spin on. And sometimes I challenge myself to just
get out, take my camera and find things to photograph I know I would never normally use for anything. Just finding textures and colors like that can be really inspirational and spiral off into other ideas that turn into something you never would have originally thought of. The big thing for me is just pacing myself to begin with too, heading off the burn out before it happens when possible.
5. What is your goal in the scrapping world?
Making things I am proud of, and knowing that other people can find it useful as
well. Knowing that in some small way I am leaving a little mark not only in my own family's future but in other people's as well. They may never even know where a tool came from, but I know that it's being used somewhere out in the world and it gives me a lot of joy!

6. What is your favorite tool to use when creating?I jump all around, some weeks I use just PSP and some weeks PS, and most of the time a combination of all sorts of things. I like that with digital scrapbooking not even being locked down to anything. No mess, no fuss... just whatever mood and idea strikes me for the day. The one thing I am a total addict for is qp templates. I love a good template for just about anything. I find its just enough guiding to get me starte
d while still letting me put my own creative spin on it and coming out with something unique.

7. If you could team up with a new person to make a collab, who would you want to team up with?Wow, I couldn't even begin to pick. There are so many fantastic designers that I would be honored to team up with. I have been very fortunate to make a great friend
so far in the industry and just look forward to the chance to make more and team up with any as the opportunity presents itself.

8. Have you ever done a hybrid project?
I have done a few, but I generally lean towards easy finished pages I can put into printable albums, or even love to make animated DVDs with finished layouts. I'm hoping to learn more about hybrid projects and get better at them in the coming years. :)

Now how's that to a little insight into the world and digi love of Dana Conditt? Totally rockin, great answers!!!! Thank you Dana, your time, talent and patience [ omg I KNOW I must bug the crap outta you sometimes LOL ] has been outstanding. I love your work and well - can I say THANK YOU enough? Probably not!!! Well to top off a great interview - Dana is offering a wicked cool CU Freebie!!! So let's all say THANK YOU a couple times ;)

- We get the awesome samples as well!!!! -

our store was down for so long! That REALLY sucked let me tell you!
Was a major surprise as well - but that's another store from left field.
You can go see what I've got going on at OSDS HERE

Now for the NEW stuff!!! I've been trying to get a lot done but between
Zamera's Karate classes 4 times a week, Zam's school, Serenity potty training [ yay! ],
Lil Ricky, husband deployed so on and so forth - holy crap does LIFE get in the way or WHAT?
Grrrrrrrr - I can't even focus on my Etsy store or my Zazzle!!!
& to top that off, I'm fixing a mistake I made 10 years ago.As of Tuesday I will get started on finishing up High School. Sad really - but
all well - after I get that knocked out, who knows what I'll do???

I'm having a 30% sale over at DSD - so you can get some saving on the new stuff to!

Freebie & News!

I know, it's been a while. I've been B-U-S-Y!
The store is getting a new look, a total over haul! I'm adding a forum
AND a [hopefully hack proof ] gallery! It's close....almost done..YAY!!
Can you tell I'm excited? Well you better believe that I am!

Well, as I've stated - I lost 90% of everything I need for my work stuff, in a external
crash. I'm hoping to salvage the external one of these days, but for now,
I have to much to focus on as it is. THUS - a start over. A new me!
How ever you want to look at it. I bought a pre-made preview template
by DIGI_Licious [ check Divine Digital! ] and made myself a new 'logo'.
Hopefully it suits. Still trying to adjust to it. That in the middle bar gets in the way -
so I might move that down, but I want to keep options open!

To show off my new preview thingy - I doodled up a little fairy.
It's my first REAL drawing in about 5 years...I was never much of
one for pen/pencil and paper - so it's rough as it is.
It's not perfect by any means, but it's an offering anyway lol

You can download this freebie HERE
Comments are very appreciated & I DO have a new TOU that
is included in this download. Thanks for coming by and enjoy your Baby Tea!

New CU4CU Gift!

I have been SO busy lately. Lil' Ricky is getting bigger every day - staying awake just
a little bit more - I love seeing his dark blue eyes. He's such a good boy - just a hungry one lol
Zamera has been acting up often lately - that whole new baby thing. She tries to be good
but every now and then she lets go in a manner that just ticks me right off.
Course lil Serenity is still hitting and throwing - but not as much! Thankfully.
Seriously considering some daycare time for both of my girls - I'm just not
to sure. I like them being home with me - but I know they need some
them time with kids their age! Interacting with other kids is a huge
thing in the social area of developement and I could probably
use some quiet time around here. Wonder how much
4 days a week for 3 hours would run me...for 2 kids?
Probably still a bucket load. I hate the cost of stuff now a days.
We FINALLY went and bought a new tv. Let's just say the original crapped out
big time and the one we we're using was about as old as your grand mother. Wasn't complaing
since it was free and it worked - but man is it nice to SEE what's on tv lol.
Well that cost us almost 700$. 0.0 wow... 42" HDTV - niiiice tv. Good deal.
Course that includes the three sets of cables we bought to go with it.
DOESN'T include the new entertainment center we had to buy.
YUP - of COURSE we buy a tv that doesn't fit in our perfectly good entertainment center.
Nooooo - so there's another 250. Holy snot balls - we're done spending money. ONLY reason
we got this anyway - TAXES!!! Blessed, wonderful taxes. So nice to have that
extra 'umph' once a year to get caught up and buy one nice new thing for the house.
Or in this case two lol All well - it works, it's wonderful and I can't WAIT to play
a game on it! Just have to find a way to amuse the young-lings first. Drat.

Okay well enough of my ramblings lol - today I'm giving you guys a great set of floral.
It comes with the natural shadow and without! If you download please leave me a comment -
it's so nice to feel appreciated and respected =]
With two kids running around, those feelings are an iffy!
